Born and raised amidst the shifting political landscape and civil unrest in Albania's capital, our founder’s early years were imbued with an underlying sense of longing. As a teenage refugee, uprooted from her country of birth, the ache for a sense of home and belonging took root deep within her.  Separated from her parents, influential relationships with her grandmother and uncle revealed how it can be possible for beauty to emerge from lost moments. Memories and emotions etched in the forgotten smells of fig trees, roses and the tears and comfort of home.  

The journey to perfume mastery

Dona's journey, marked by a profound understanding of her inner self, resilience and the enduring memory of her beloved family, led her to discover the extraordinary impact of scent on her energy and her life. At the core of PERDON lies the essence of a life rich in potential and possibilities. It was this powerful driving force which led Dona to exchange her role as an Architect for Apothecarist to follow her passion to create PERDON and a symphony of scents to ignite and empower a new generation.

The name PERDON is inspired from the Latin word perdonare, the act of donating, sharing, and giving gifts. In Spanish the word also means forgive. Themes which are at the heart of Dona’s journey. Because it was through forgiveness and the sharing of knowledge, kindness and love, Dona found comfort in scent and its power to connect and remember.
